The following document can be used to identify areas of the Municipal Government Act relating to petitions, and to supplement and explain specific sections or applications of the Act.

Appendix A is a listing of the applicable references to petitions within the MGA.  You are urged to obtain an office consolidation of the MGA, including amendments, prior to initiating a petition.  Copies can be obtained from the Queen’s Printer bookstore located in Edmonton.
