As the removal of 17 floodway homes proceeds in the Calgary communities of Elbow Park and Rideau/Roxboro, Municipal Affairs Minister Danielle Larivee and Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi convened this meeting to seek feedback from residents on their vision for the recovery of their communities.

Big City Charters
The Government of Alberta and the cities of Edmonton and Calgary are working together to create City Charters to provide Alberta’s two largest cities with the legislative ability to pursue innovations and efficiencies to better serve their residents in a number of areas.
Were you affected by flooding in July 2015?
On July 12, 2015, Albertans living in Rocky View County and in and around the City of Chestermere experienced an intense rainstorm that resulted in flooding. The provincial Disaster Recovery Program will provide financial support for basic, essential property to eligible applicants that experienced uninsured damage to their homes and properties.
